Got a returned unit at MC for $40 and some change. Opened the box and it was brand new unopened. It’s V2 so have to figure out the Linux issues with sound. BTW, this is one of the very few laptops in the world where you can charge it with a small battery. Very useful for ham radio operators or when SHTF.

How to solve the problem of automatic repair?
Hey, I replaced LTE modem with the suggested SSD and reinstalled Windows 10 OS. All working fine except audio. Windows update or intel driver assist are not finding suitable drivers. Please advise if anyone come across this issue.
eBay link for SSD is with B and M key. Are you sure it’s working for this laptop. I bought new laptop yesterday. Would like to add an SSD for new OS.
This would also may explain why Macrium did not work. The backup was not a V2 backup "DOH"
Actually I think I do know why. My backup of the driver was from the Evolve11 not the V2. I will check this and report back. I bought 5 of these so I have 3 V2 out of 5
I installed this Driver and got sound back: Audio_Realtek_6.0.8996.1_W10x64_A.zip. In device manager Under "Sound, video and game controllers" I have ESAuDriver device, Intel(R) Display Audio, Intel Smart Sound Technology (intel SST). I recommend using Macrium to back up the entire drive before doing anything with this netbook. I must say I did exactly that and still had the sound issue after restoring with Macrium. The V2 is very finicky but the driver mentioned did indeed bring back audio. I will try to duplicate this result. I will continue to research this issue and with your help a step by step can be made.

Hi. Very well done review, and tips. Welcome to YouTube. I hope to see more in the near future. I removed the SIM card card and installed an M.2 SSD. Please tell me how I can get this laptop to install Windows on that SSD. I've gone to the BIOS but can't find a way to boot from a usb cd-rom with a Windows 10 disc, and then run it to install on that M.2 SSD.
about to pick up one of these today from Microcenter, hoping it can serve as a plex server machine, should just need to relay video from a USB 3.0 6 TB drive to the TVs in my house so I don't think any crazy transcoding is needed. Also thinking of getting the SSD if microcenter has one for cheap & install linux Mint. Pretty crazy to get a complete 60$ machine, it's almost throw away so I had to try it. Only other use case i plan for it is to perhaps use it for some word processing and watching videos in bed. definitely worth a try.

Is there a good way to install the wifi driver without already being connected to the internet? I seem to have a chicken or the egg problem.

A few points I forgot to go over in the review:
– Build quality is surprisingly good. It feels very durable.
– Trackpad is also good. Not bad, not great.. which is probably a pro for a laptop that costs so little.
– If you decide to install Linux, I recommend using a USB to ethernet adapter to download the Wi-Fi drivers.
– Using moonlight to stream games worked better with a screen resolution of 720p rather than the native resolution of 1366×768
